We are very happy to report that UK WMMA standout, osteopath, SAFE MMA campaigner and all around absolute legend Rosi Sexton (13-2) has signed with the UFC and is set to face another Kumite favourite, Canada’s Alexis Davis (13-5) at UFC 161 in Winnipeg.
Rosi has long been one of the highest ranked 125lb female fighters, boasting wins over the likes of Carina Damm, Roxanne Modaferri and Aisling Daly and steps up to 135lbs for this bout off the back of a three fight win streak.
She would have headlined a Cage Warriors card last October against another recent UFC signee, Sheila Gaff who pulled out of the bout after Rosi requested independent drug testing, make of that what you will.
Aside from being a part of SAFE MMA and regularly making insightful commentary on her blog, Rosi had been quiet on the fight front since then and we’re really happy to see one of our favourite talents and favourite personalities back in the cage, especially on the biggest show of them all.
Please check out Rosi’s blog and follow her on Twitter @RosiSexton for some of the most honest and informative commentary on MMA (as well as other issues) to be found on the web.
